General Info

Tucked along 46 Las Tunas Dr, Arcadia, CA 91007, United States, Yung Ho Dou Jiang Restaurant offers a cozy Taiwanese dining experience that feels both casual and comforting. This small but welcoming spot focuses on traditional breakfast and comfort dishes that many people associate with Taiwanese street food culture. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place for solo dining, quick takeout, or a simple meal with family.

One thing that stands out right away when browsing the menu is the focus on classic soy milk-based dishes and hearty porridge. A popular highlight is 豆腐脑和油条, a comforting combination of silky tofu pudding served with crispy fried dough sticks. The texture contrast makes it incredibly satisfying. Another must-try item is the Pork and Duck Egg Porridge, which is warm, savory, and deeply comforting-exactly the kind of dish you’d want when you’re craving something simple but flavorful.

Soy milk plays a big role here, and the restaurant offers several variations that regulars often mention in reviews. The Peanut Soy Milk has a rich, nutty flavor that adds a slightly sweet depth to the drink. On the savory side, salted bean milk (鹹豆漿) delivers a completely different experience, blending soy milk with savory toppings that create a layered taste and texture. It’s a dish that perfectly represents the traditional Taiwanese breakfast style the restaurant is known for.

Seafood lovers will probably gravitate toward the oyster pan cake (蚵仔煎). This dish combines oysters with a soft, slightly chewy batter and a flavorful sauce. It’s one of those plates that captures the street-food spirit that Taiwanese cuisine does so well.

Despite being a casual diner-style restaurant, the space feels comfortable and accessible. The wheelchair accessible entrance makes it easier for all guests to visit, while the cozy setting helps create a relaxed dining environment. Families often stop by because the restaurant is good for kids, and the straightforward menu makes it easy for everyone to find something they enjoy.

Another practical benefit is the takeout service, which is especially convenient for those who want to enjoy Taiwanese comfort food at home. Whether stopping in for a quick solo meal or picking up a few dishes to share, the restaurant keeps things simple and approachable.

Among Taiwanese restaurants in Arcadia, Yung Ho Dou Jiang Restaurant stands out for its traditional menu, comforting flavors, and laid-back dining style. The combination of authentic dishes, convenient services, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a dependable stop for anyone exploring Taiwanese cuisine in the area.

What customers say?

“ Just love it! Super fresh and good quality. A bit pricy compared to that to Hong Kong of course. But boy, I haven’t had this for 3 years. So certainly worth it! ”

“ I seriously don't understand why the low score! In fact, a part of me wants to keep it a low score so that I can hide this Taiwanese breakfast gem for myself... Both my mom and I loved the breakfast here, especially their soy milk! Coming from someone who grew up in Taiwan and another who basically visit Taiwan every year of her life, this means A LOT! We ordered two ginger soy milk (HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND), the egg cake with pork floss, the baked turnip cake and sweet pan cake! I always eat egg cake (it sounds weird, but trust me..it is just because of the translation..) when I am in Taiwan since it is my favorite breakfast food. There is a famous egg cake place in Tustin, CA that has good rating on Yelp..but it was a big disappointment for me..flavorless and expensive.. The egg cake here is crunchy, fresh, flavorful with fillings and under $6 !?!? Such a steal! The soy milk..mmmmm...warm, the perfect amount of sweetness..brings me back to the busy morning streets in Taiwan..AND a big bowl UNDER $3 ?!?! Too bad I live in OC..or else I know where I will get my breakfast every day from now on... The four stars are because - We grabbed some of the pastry that was around the counter and tbh those weren't that great.. This store is small, a typical mom and pop store, so the service was a bit slower even though there weren't many people around (we came on a Saturday morning at around 10 am). Either way, give this authentic Taiwanese breakfast place a try if you like Taiwanese breakfast and you wouldn't regret it! ”

“ Very good service with great food. So easy parking. They serve Taiwaneese food. Breakfast are great. They will serve you with food quickly. Store looks nice and clean. ”

“ Ver friendly and helpful staff, service was fast and food was hot. The baked turnip cake and hot soy milk are my favorite, all food on the menu is so delicious. I drive all the way from El Segundo to come eat here, it's that good ”

“ I know Asians don't hug and all, but if they did then eating here (especially for breakfast) is like a warm embrace from your Taiwanese grandma. Some pretty rare dishes and a lot of selection. This place has the proper Taiwan shop house vibe. Worth a try on a cold day or if you are missing home. ”

“ "new owner changed all the food taste, this place will close in no time"-2018 2021 June update, I decided to give a try again, the food quality has increased significantly, while the price is still affordable. Will definitely come back again. ”

“ Odd that it's called a Taiwanese Restaurant... it's basically Northern Chinese food made by Taiwanese cook, who probably came from Northern China originally. But that's a messy history lesson nobody needs to learn... The food here is is very good and authentic, the soy milk is home made and fresh every day, the cruller is crispy, and the various other small treats are all very tasty. Parking can be a problem since the lot is tiny, and if you come here on a weekend morning - be prepared to WAIT. I mean, 30 min wait is possible because a lot of geriatric Chinese NEEDS their soy milk breakfast in the morning. Lines can be long, and move VERY slowly. Over all it's an interesting place to at least try for one time. You'll probably enjoy the food, if not the line. ”

“ The food there is okay. if the lady in the front desk become a little nicer, that'd be great ”
